PRO- T-S® offers the ability to digitally record open end questions for subsequent playback of those files for transcription, coding or quality control purposes. PRO- T-S® also supports the playing of sound files to respondents during the course of an interview.
Files are recorded in either WAV file format (system default) or Dialogic’s native mode, compressed VOX file format. The DSM Module is tightly integrated and available for use with CfMC’s Survent and Sawtooth’s CI3 Interviewing systems.
The feature set supported by the DSM Module includes the following:
- On demand recording of open end responses via messages received from the CATI server
- Playback of sound clips of previously recorded files during the interview
- For coding and transcription purposes, the telephone keypad can be enabled to control the playback of recordings. Enables the user to freely move forward or backwards through the file, pause the playback, skip to the end or return to the beginning of the file. The user can also adjust the volume and speed (VOX files only) of the playback.
- Supports a range of file rename options (via CATI server commands) for managing the recorded files.
- PRO- T-S® tracks the space available for recording and posts warning messages notifying the user of when free space falls below certain levels.
- PRO- T-S® provides automatic fallback for recording to a secondary drive designated by the user. This could occur in the instance where the primary drive becomes unavailable or there is insufficient space on it to continue recording. Messages are posted notifying the user on a continual basis of this condition.
A complete disk sub-system is included with the module. It consists of an Ultra 160 SCSI PCI RAID disk controller and two (2) 36GB Ultra3 SCSI disk drives.
Drives are configured in a RAID 1 mirror configuration offering 36GB of recording space or approximately 900 hours
